The weather was overcast and refreshingly cool relative to the south of India, and the aroma of lime leaves, blooming flowers and several memorable Thai delicacies wafted through the air, bringing back fond memories tinged with a touch of melancholy.

I had never been placed in this type of supervisory position before and, to be honest, the anticipation of such a task filled me with more dread than the thought had of crossing the hot, desolate Kyzylkum Desert by bicycle months earlier! In the end this new experience became one of my fondest memories from my time spent with our orphan kids.

Visiting with Sister M.I. for the first time

As Randall has already elaborated upon in the previous blog post, we visited the orphanage the next morning. The sisters there, as well as the girls, are genuine sweethearts, and I was quickly confirmed in the notion that we had chosen the right cause to support!
