Merry Christmas, All!

Dear Readers,

The Season is upon us, and so we join our shouts of ‘Merry Christmas!’ with the general din of merry-making, raising good cheer like a full cup to the heavens. Thank you, one an all, for your well-wishes, prayers, and encouragement—we rely on you for an essential part of our strength and consolation in this our endeavor: persist, I insist, and so shall we!

Briefly: our first European Christmas was spent in company with new-found friends and family of Sintra, Portugal, including their canine dependents, Shotsky, Roxy, and Max. The latter of the three is, among other things, a perfect curmudgeon. And while he was thus engaged one day, very recently, he curmudgeonly pulled my computer from its perch on a table, which fell to an untimely death on the hard tiles below. I am resigned, I might add, mentioning the incident solely because my journaling abilities are somewhat limited until a replacement found. Meanwhile, the dilatory blog rolls doggedly on: we treat more thoroughly of our Christmastide doings in a later post, promising to expound on the many charms of Portugal, our new favorite country: the land of grilled chicken (the scent is tantalizing and ubiquitous) and brandos costumes – gentle ways.

Yours to the Bitter End,
R+A

  3. Still pop onto your blog to see how you are getting along. Awful weather in Ireland just now. Worst cold snap since 1963 so the old timers say anyway! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to hearing more about your exploits.
